The thirty minutes preceding each workshop is designated as registration and socialization time. Any and all SEKLS Member Librarians, Member Library Board Members or Governor's Appointees are invited to attend. Public, Academic and School librarians are all welcome.

Rules of the Game:
1. Select a craft to demonstrate from the 2010 manual or related to the 2010 theme. You may attend and not demonstrate, but you must bring patterns, etc. to be copied.

2. Bring patterns to copy with list of materials for the craft you will demonstrate or share, plus one finished product. Your name and telephone number or email plus list of materials should be included on each pattern copy.

3. Bring master copies of ideas, activities, games or color sheets. We will print copies at SEKLS headquarters

4. Items to be laminated should be dropped off BEFORE 9am at SEKLS Headquarters NEW LOCATION (map) and have identification on them.

Applied Public Library Education SEMINAR:
This new, practical training approach will address your most pressing needs as a library director. In this two-day seminar you will begin to understand the background information you need to make your library the best it can be for your community by:
-collecting and analyzing community and library data,

-writing and implementing policies that are fair and effective,

-budgeting your library’s income sources including wise spending,

-improving teamwork with trustees for increased cooperation,

-doing all of this and more with confidence and assurance, and

-understanding WHY you are doing these things.
APPLE will begin at Cedar Crest Lodge, Pleasanton, Kansas, May 19-20, 2010. All expenses, including meals and overnight lodging will be paid for you by Southeast Kansas Library System.

APPLE is designed for Southeast Kansas Public Library Directors who do not have a Master’s Degree in Library Science. Directors who have graduated KPLACE and are interested in attending APPLE will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if room becomes available.
